Life in the jungle is unpredictable. The weather changes at the drop of a hat. Google never provides accurate weather for Costa Rica, its typically sunny throughout the day, and sometimes it may rain at night. The electricity can go off for an hour. Cleaning ants may decide to sweep through your living room floor, or a cockroach decides to land on your fruit. Costa Rica is not known for being particularly efficient in any process. Lines move slow. People might operate on “beach time” and be late, or you feel they are unreliable. Itinerary may be subject to change. We are in a different country, so we ask that you leave any united states expectations at home, and be open to a new experience!
All activities are part of the Black Women Soft Life Retreats schedule and can not be changed or switched. If you miss an activity due to flight delays, sickness etc, the activity can not be replaced. This includes for weather.
No, there are no weight requirements for the activities.
We generally do not publish the schedule on our website, it is only for confirmed retreat attendees. You will receive your itinerary the day you arrive at the retreat. However the activities listed on the main page will be included in the itinerary, barring any changes not under our control.
Yes, if you have a birthday during the retreat, send us an email at least 1 week before the retreat so that we can do something special for you.
Additional Activities Include: Massage, Reiki, Surf Lessons, Zip Lining and more. Additional activities are not included in the retreat.
During the Black Women Soft Life Retreats there is Free WIFI to all guests . Do keep in mind though that the internet is not as reliable as other developed areas of the world. You will be able to do your laundry at a local drop off service which will be arranged by the hotel for you.
Vaccinations are not required to enter Costa Rica.
The local currency is Colones however Costa Rica also accepts US dollars. Upon your arrival you will receive an email that will teach you how to count the local currency. In the area there are a couple of banks and a few ATM machines.
We suggest wearing your hair in whatever way works best for you. You can wear your hair natural, get braids, or wear a bust down middle part wig etc., we don’t recommend weaves because you will be getting your head wet. If you wear makeup at home, you can bring your makeup with you! Long acrylics and short nails do well in Costa Rica.
3 weeks before the retreat, we recommend nourishing your body with healthy foods, walking or exercising 2-3 times a week, so that you can start to prepare yourself for Costa Rica.
Black Women Soft Life Retreat believes in all forms of natural and holistic healing from yoni steaming, prayer, meditation, rituals, and more; we also find those with mental health concerns can use natural healing methods, and they can also use clinical techniques such as therapy/psychiatry.
Upon registration, you will receive a document to sign within 24-48 hours. and a retreat participant form. As the date of the retreat approaches, you will receive emails on specifics relevant to your trip.

🕊️🕊️🕊️ In the face of someone’s death, we sometimes slip into a state of silence, depression, and destruction, which can perpetuate internal suffering stemming from immense grief in response to the death of a loved one, someone you know, or even the thought of you or someone dying. In this virtual workshop, Healing After The Death Of A Loved One, you will be able to understand death, grief, and acceptance. Together, you will discuss common notions about death and grief, and you will learn to channel grief into contentment.
In this virtual workshop, the women will make space for grief by acknowledging its remarkable imminence, learning about grief response, ways to cope with grief, and transcending our perception of death and grief into acceptance.
Please Note: To keep the sacredness of women communing and healing together, you will only be allowed to enter the room with your camera on.

💕💕💕 Black Women Healing Retreats has opportunities for workshop facilitators, photographers, and yoga teachers for our virtual community and retreats.
We are looking for reliable and knowledgeable workshop facilitators who can teach workshops centered on the categories of healing, spirituality, wellness, and femininity. For example, coping with grief, healing intimate relationships, astrology/tarot, healing family trauma etc.,
We do not require you to have a large Instagram following, as we are aware that someone can have 29 followers and be a genius in their field, and someone can have 500k followers and be mediocre. Your following is a benefit, but it is unnecessary, as we prefer quality over quantity any day.

Today 🌹🌹🌹 Black Women Healing Retreats will be hosting a Healing Through Shadow Work workshop. In this virtual workshop, you will learn about shadow work and you will dive deep into shedding and integrating the shadow. This workshop will allow you to go deep within boundaries, toxic positivity, self-accountability, letting go of the victim narrative, and unpacking trauma. In healing and taking care of your well-being, we must be able to look at the parts of ourselves that we are ashamed of or ignore so that healing can take place. This honest exploration is crucial for true healing. We assure you that as you begin to integrate your shadows with your light, your life will improve for the better.
Please bring these items to the workshop if they are available to you:
▫️get cozy someplace, your bed, yoga mat, couch
▫️journal/notepad + pen
▫️candles or incense
▫️water or warm beverage such as herbal tea
Please Note: To keep the sacredness of women communing and healing together, you will only be allowed to enter the room with your camera on.

Gentle Reminder🌹🌹🌹 You do not have to be strong all the time. You are allowed to be soft and embody your femininity. When you are tired, you deserve to rest. When you need love and support, you are allowed to receive that. It is essential to remove the mindset of being a “super woman” and allowing yourself to flow and to just be.
